“I started working out with Carissa Steelman when I was 54 years old at the gym she worked at. I was well on my way to 270 lbs and had no core muscles to keep me from falling and had beginning stages of osteoporosis. My knee needed to be replaced and I had a sciatica issue. Then I started working out with Carissa and she trained me for the next two years. My osteoporosis was no longer an issue and my core became stronger, so no more falling and my sciatica pain was less. I complained all the time that after two years I hadn’t lost any weight. I had lost inches, I think 16 inches in the first year. We found out together how strong I was. Carissa told me weekly I needed to log my food intake. I tried all kinds of diets with little success. Then this past December, 2019 I became very nervous that I might have a heart attack or stroke as I weighed 257 lbs, I had an extremely stressful job and was sitting all day. I decided things needed to change.

I finally, after 2 years, took Carissa’s advice and started logging my food intake daily and sticking to a calorie budget. Carissa, of course, was right and I started seeing immediate results. Carissa continued to be my biggest cheerleader for daily change. I entered a transformation challenge at the gym and lost 14.7 lbs and 12 inches overall during 8 weeks. Carissa was amazing and worked me hard as always. I have continued my weight loss and fitness journey with Carissa since and am now down 31.4 lbs in 4 months. I will forever be grateful to Carissa for her patience, perseverance and support through all my complaining and wanting to give up. She has changed my life forever. I have not been as healthy as I am now since I was in my 20s. I can lift more weight than some guys that are younger than me. It’s so empowering. “I have struggled with weight loss my whole adult life.. I have tried so many different programs and diets and they help me for about 2-3 weeks and then I’m back to my old habits again..
